Is Magic Real or Illusion?

The world of magic has been with us for thousands of years. From the ancient Egyptians to today’s modern society, magic has always captivated our imagination and stirred our curiosity

. More so than any other part of our history, humans are fascinated and entertained by the idea that they can do something which nobody else can.

In this article, we are going to look at whether magic is real or just an illusion, let’s jump straight to it.

What is Magic?

It seems that magic tricks are the most common thing around our globe, everybody knows about magic tricks but does everybody really know about them?

Let’s start with the basics, A trick is an act performed by a person or an object to entertain or amuse an audience. The first trick that comes to mind is something performed by a card/dice magician, they perform card tricks and such, it’s a very popular thing to do.

Is Magic Real or an Illusion?

Magic tricks are nothing but illusions in which an object appears to move or function in a way that it does not, this type of trick is normally performed by a magician and involves the manipulation of objects such as, cards, coins, and many more.

Magical effects may be achieved through sleight of hand (a simple form of magic) or by the use of optical illusions. Abraham Lincoln once said; “The eyes are the windows to the soul” and I believe that phrase really holds weight.

By nature, magic is not paranormal but is a trick, an illusion that is performed by humans. Even magicians themselves will say that they are not supernatural, they follow the same laws as everyone else but just have better control of them and are able to perform miracles on stage.

Practiced Deception, is the main factor in shows and tricks, if you were going to set up a stunt and make it look like someone jumped off a roof of a building, you would need to practice jumping off that roof.

If Magic was real wouldn’t we all do it?

Not all magicians are conjurers most magicians perform close-up magic, this involves sleight of hand, with this type of magic, you don’t need to have an audience as there is no room for error.

Close-up magic is where a magician performs magic effects in front of the spectator’s eyes, a great example of close-up magic would be someone doing a coin trick to which they toss one coin up and catch it but what happens after that?

They catch the coin and then do something else. The majority of magicians have practiced so hard that they will do anything, do you think they fake their tricks by making mistakes.

Where does magic come from?

Magic has been around for thousands of years, when people think about the definition of magic they would probably be thinking about conjuration, some people use magic to achieve their goals and others do it for entertainment.

Many individuals practice magic to fool others into thinking that they can do something which is seemingly impossible. Magicians are always searching for ways to make their acts more entertaining and interesting, if you haven’t tried any riddles then go onto google search it, and get one today.Magic has its origins in ancient Greece.

During the late sixth and early fifth centuries BCE, the Persian maguš was Graecicized and introduced into the ancient Greek language as μάγος and μαγεία. Magos in ancient Greece was a generic term used to refer to a conjurer, magician, or astrologer.

The first magician in history is thought to be Dedi in ancient Egypt who was trained by Gilgamesh, Dedi was said to have had supernatural strength and knowledge of sorcery.

Conclusion
