Street Magicians (Things You Should Know)

There are different types of magicians and they are all unique in their own way. They can be magicians who perform in theaters and on television, or they can be street magicians who perform for the general public. In this article, I am going to talk more about what a street magician is.

What is a Street Magician?

A street magician, or a busker, is someone who performs magic tricks in public places to entertain people. A good street magician can make money doing magic tricks for children and adults alike. The skills needed to be a successful street magician are not that different from those needed by other professional magicians.

Street magicians often perform close-up magic that can be done with small props, such as cards and coins.

Street magicians tend to work on busy streets or in heavily populated areas where there are lots of people around.

Some even choose to perform in malls or shopping centers, which can be great places for making money if you know how to attract attention and hold it long enough for spectators to part with their cash.”

Street Magic vs Stage Magic

Street magic has many similarities to stage magic but several key differences exist.

The first and most obvious difference is that the audience is much smaller. Instead of having thousands of people watching your act on stage or in front of TV cameras, you will only have a handful of people around you at any given time.

This makes it much easier for them to see what you are doing and as such it is much more important that your tricks look good up close rather than from far away.

What Kinds of Tricks do Street Magicians perform?

Tricks are a part of street magic.

Street magicians perform tricks to entertain people in a public place. They use different types of props like coins, cards and other objects to perform their tricks.

Some common tricks performed by street magicians include levitating objects, making objects disappear and reappear, finding hidden objects and so on.

Some common tricks performed by street magicians are listed below:

Levitation:

This trick is performed to make an object fly around in the air at a height that is beyond the reach of the magician’s hands. Magicians use ropes or threads tied to the object to make it levitate.

Coin Tricks:

Coin tricks involve using coins as props for performing various illusions like making coin disappear or reappear, duplicating them or making them disappear from one hand and appear in another hand etc.

The most popular coin trick is where two coins are placed on top of each other under a glass tumbler and when lifted up only one coin can be seen under the glass tumbler while the second coin has vanished without a trace! This illusion is known as ‘Coin Vanish’.

Card Tricks:

Card tricks are very popular among street magicians since card games have been played for ages . There are many different types of card tricks that can be performed. Some of the most popular ones include:

  • Card to Pocket: This is where a card is placed on top of the deck and then magically disappears from there, only to reappear in your pocket!
  • Card Stabbing: This involves stabbing a knife or any sharp object through the middle of an unbroken deck of cards without damaging them in any way.

Do Street Magicians Make Money?

Street magicians can be found performing on sidewalks and in parks across the world. But these days, street magic is not as popular as it once was.

when it comes to earning a living, Street magicians are in a unique position because they are constantly interacting with the public. This can be a great way to generate income, but it requires dedication, patience, and perseverance.

There are many street magicians who make good money with their craft, but there is not enough work for everyone.
